K.G.Kenye inaugurates power sub station in Mokokchung

Minister of Power & Parliamentary Affairs, K.G. Kenye inaugurated two power sub-stations at Mokokchung on March 4, informed DIPR.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said development cannot take place without the usage of electricity and with the advancement of technology, the need for more power has become crucial. With the state power department accumulating huge losses over the years from buying power, Kenye said the government is drawing up plans to address the acute shortage of power in the state. He stressed on the need in identifying natural resources and rivers for producing electricity in order to mitigate the power crises. He also expressed appreciation to the Government of India, the World Bank, the Ministry of Power, the State Power Department, and all stakeholders for the successful completion of the project.

Delivering a short speech, Advisor for Water Resources, Tongpang Ozukum, lauded the Power Department, the All Ward Union Mokokchung Town and all involved for tirelessly pursuing and ensuring the successful implementation of the project. He acknowledged the Chief Minister for all the effort and contribution towards making the project a success.

Short speeches were delivered by Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Power, Asangla Imti; Engineer-in-Chief, Power Er. Moa Aier; President All Ward Union, Mokokchung and President, Ao Senden.
