In a major breakthrough, a team of Kohima Police has successfully recovered two stolen motorcycles and apprehended two minor suspects involved in the crimes. The swift action was undertaken during the investigation of South PS Case No. 0025/2026, registered under Section 305(b) BNS 2023.
According to police, the case was initially registered on May 8, 2026, based on a complaint received regarding the theft of a motorbike from Midland Colony, Kohima. Working meticulously on technical and human intelligence, the police team was able to identify and apprehend both suspects, who are juveniles.
During the course of the investigation, the team not only recovered the motorbike stolen from Midland Colony but also successfully traced and recovered a second motorbike that had been reported stolen under the jurisdiction of North Police Station. The prompt and coordinated operation has thus resolved two separate vehicle theft cases.

Following their apprehension and as per the procedures mandated under the Juvenile Justice Act, both minors have been forwarded to the Observation Home for further necessary action.
After completing all requisite legal formalities, both recovered vehicles have been handed over to their respective rightful owners.
The Kohima Police reiterated its commitment to combating property-related crimes and ensuring the safety and security of the citizens. It also urged the public to adopt necessary precautions against vehicle theft and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
