The Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) successfully organised a massive social work on October 2, coinciding with the nationwide Swachh Bharat initiative. The primary objective of the event was to clean and beautify the village surroundings in preparation for the upcoming festive season and to ensure that Kohima Village remains clean and green. The social work included a village-wide cleanliness drive, which involved cleaning public spaces, clearing drains, whitewashing walls and removing waste from various localities.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from all quarters of the village, with approximately 2,500 volunteers actively contributing to the initiative. Volunteers came from Dapfhütsumia Thinuo, Lhisemia Thinuo, Pfuchatsumia Thinuo, Tsütuonuomia Thinuo and various colonies in the rural areas of Kohima. These volunteers, consisting of both youth and elderly, worked tirelessly throughout the day, showing a commendable spirit of unity and dedication towards maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the village.

The KVYO along with the Thinuo Youth Organisations meticulously planned and organised the event, ensuring that every part of the village was covered during the cleanliness drive. Special attention was given to public spaces such as roads, community halls and public pathways, which were thoroughly cleaned. Additionally, the volunteers took the opportunity to whitewash several public walls, giving the village a fresh and vibrant appearance.
