Advisor for CAWD, Kudecho Khamo on Saturday encouraged entrepreneurship for economic growth while addressing the Chozuba Assembly Constituency (AC) Entrepreneurs’ Meet, an initiative under the LADF, held at Chozuba Town.

Addressing the gathering, Khamo said every profession has its own merit, adding that entrepreneurship is still a relatively new concept that many people are not familiar with, as it requires creativity and risk-taking.

He said entrepreneurs are the engine of every nation’s progress and development as they create employment and contribute to nation-building through the payment of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

He said the world belongs to entrepreneurs and that understanding people and development is key to progress.

Maintaining that nurturing entrepreneurship through guidance, support and promotion is part of his personal, political and party’s vision, Khamo encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue innovation.

Khamo opined that many people blame money or their parents for their lack of success in business, but said God has endowed every individual with the ability to think. He said thinking is the capital, enterprise is the way, and hard work is the solution to life’s challenges.

He said a willing heart is essential for success and stressed that the best minds and the most capable people should engage in business to bring about transformation.

Khamo called for a movement to promote locally produced items so they can reach markets beyond the state.

He described the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) as a good and viable scheme for aspiring entrepreneurs to start and scale up their businesses. He also emphasized the need to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM).

He called on entrepreneurs to maintain a positive attitude without unrealistic expectations, work hard, stay away from pessimism, remain focused on their businesses and strive for success.

Furthermore Khamo observed that food processing and food products are viable business sectors with significant potential.

Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Vevohu Epao, President of the 18th Chozuba AC NPF, who appreciated the MLA and Advisor for his visionary initiative to uplift the business community and nurture entrepreneurs for progress and development. He also encouraged the participants to seize the opportunities available to them.

The programme, led by Razukuyi Khusoh, President of the Youth Wing, 18th Chozuba AC NPF, began with an invocation prayer by Vekusa Lohe, Pastor of Chozuba Town Baptist Church. This was followed by an interactive discussion with Sevonyi Keyho, Chairman of the Chozuba Town Council (CTC), and Thepukrayi Nienu, General Secretary of the 18th Chozuba AC NPF.
