“Language across the curriculum “ by I Tiawapangla was released on May 23 at Hotel Cimorb, Old Ministers Hill, Kohima.
Published by Pine press Kohima, the book aims at providing teachers with practical ideas and tips on how to weave language learning into other subjects successfully.
In a brief speech, Dr. Gomesh Mosahary, Principal, Sazolie College of Teacher Education who released the book congratulated and applauded the author for identifying the need for such book and releasing it on time. “B.Ed students are struggling to cover the syllabus and this book was written with experience. The author has brought out this book inspite of her difficulties and struggles. Today, our society has all kind of people and among them are such writers who write and do work for society. Books always remians somewhere even if you are gone,” said Dr. Mosahary commending the author’s hard work and dedication.
Author Tiawapangla in her short speech mentioned that the book emerged out of both necessity and experience. “This was a core paper under the first semester of the B.Ed. programme. Throughout my years of teaching, I often found myself wishing for a comprehensive text that could bring together the diverse ideas embedded in this subject. I was compelled to create one myself when I realized that such a resource was missing,” said the author.
Tiawapangla considered B.Ed. syllabus as ‘beautifully interdisciplinary drawing from education, linguistics, psychology, philosophy, and beyond’. And because of such complexity, teachers and students alike often have to consult multiple books and scholarly articles just to cover a single unit.
“Our libraries, despite their best efforts, sometimes fall short in providing all the needed resources. This gap doesn’t just affect teaching and learning; it affects evaluation as well,” she added

With most of the questions descriptive in nature, the author said, the assessment process can become highly subjective, often leaving students feeling uncertain about what is expected. For the author, the book is a humble attempt to provide a consolidated, student-friendly, and academically sound resource that addresses key concepts with clarity and depth.
“This work is the result of years of study, reflection, and dialogue with many senior educators and colleagues, to whom I owe a great deal,” said Tiawapangla, who expressed the hope that the book will serve its intended purpose supporting both learners and educators, and little more uniformity and fairness on how to approach the subject.
Sungtinaro Jamir, Assistant Professor, Kohima Bible College earlier blessed the program with invocation. During the event, Publisher of Pine Tree Kohima Theyie Whiso also shared a short speech.
