Kohima Police has arrested a man in the capital on attempted molestation charge after a woman lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against him. The accused is currently in the custody at the Women Police Station, Kohima.

According to a press release issued by Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP), Kohima and Public Relations Officer (PRO) Soriso K, the incident alleged occurred at around 4:38 pm on 27 March 2025 at a bakery shop in the Box Cutting area in Kohima where the 21-year-old victim worked as a salesgirl.

An investigation is said to be underway, and a case will be registered against the accused as per the law.

The authorities assured that it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals, especially women, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty of such offences.
