The Maram Culture Forum (MCF) and Maram Khullen Village Authority jointly organized Maram Cultural Day 2026 on April 15 at Maram Khullen Local Ground. The event united people of all ages to celebrate the Maram community’s rich heritage and traditions.

Chaired by K Michael, the program opened with the folk song Marahang Lii, followed by a blessing from K Namba, the Chief of the Maram tribe. MCF Convenor, Peter Ki—also PRO of Nagaland University—welcomed guests and highlighted the journey to this fourth edition. Distinguished leaders, including Chief Host, K Namba and Chief Patron, Livingstone Joshua, elevated the occasion.

Cultural performances stole the show, with various khels (Sagais) presenting Magu Kamaga, Rujai Taa Kamaga, and Rahi Tii Kamaga—traditional songs, dances, and customs that showcased unity, creativity, and identity. Chief Patron Mr. Livingstone Joshua urged preserving traditions for younger generations.

A shared community meal fostered togetherness, followed by an afternoon Traditional Dress Contest where participants donned indigenous attire. The event closed with a documentary on Maram Cultural Day annual celebrations since 2023.

Held days after the Northern Maram-Southern Angami 100-Year Brotherhood commemoration on April 11 at the same venue, the Maram Cultural Day reinforced cultural preservation amid the Government of India’s emphasis on Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS).

Earlier, the vote of thanks was proposed by Thuiba Samuel.
