District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting-cum-farewell programme for the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Meluri was held on April 16, 2026, at Riepetho’s Farm.
Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, MLA and Advisor for New & Renewable Energy (N&RE) and NSDMA and Chairman DPDB, spoke on matters concerning the minutes of the previous meeting. He highlighted the selection of vibrant villages under the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, stating that at least eight villages along with one EAC headquarters have been identified in Pochury district. He urged government employees to discharge their duties sincerely and diligently in the interest of public service and for overall development of the district.
He extended his best wishes to the outgoing Deputy Commissioner for his future endeavours, and acknowledged the officer’s dedicated service and contributions to the district during his tenure. He expressed hope that he would continue to serve with the same commitment in his future assignments. He also conveyed appreciation on behalf of the people of the district and wished him success in all his future responsibilities.
Outgoing DC Meluri, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, NCS, delivered a farewell speech, reflecting on his tenure and experiences in the district. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officers and staff for arranging a programme in his honour. He conveyed that he was deeply touched by the gesture and appreciated the support extended to him during his tenure.

Tsanglao called upon the people of Pochury to remain united and continue working together for the progress of the district. Emphasizing the role of the younger generation, he encouraged the youth to pursue education as a vital tool for growth, while also exploring diverse avenues beyond government employment.
He urged them to make effective use of skill development schemes to create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Reflecting on his time in the district, he shared that he had experienced immense warmth and affection from the people, making his stay feel like a “home away from home.” He expressed his fond memories of the district and extended his best wishes for its continued development and prosperity.
Earlier, several speakers addressed the gathering during the programme. Chubarenla Longchar, District Youth Resource Officer, spoke on behalf of DPDB members, while Zuchibemo Ezung, EAC represented the administrative officers. Pochury Hoho also extended their message. The invocation was delivered by Sieketho Nyusou, Assistant Pastor, BCMT, and the programme was chaired by Tepulezono Tetso, District Sports Officer, Meluri.
