MH-10 Kohima clinches 17th Imchaba Master Memorial Open Volleyball Trophy 2024

MH-10 Kohima emerged victorious in the 17th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2024, defeating Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA) in the final match held at the Multi-Sports Complex, Mokokchung. MH-10 claimed the title in straight sets, winning 25-17, 25-18, and 30-28, securing their place as champions of the prestigious tournament.

The trophy, organized by the Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA), has been a staple of Nagaland volleyball for the past two decades, attracting teams from across the state to compete in one of the most highly anticipated events on the volleyball calendar.

The closing ceremony featured Jacob Yanthan, President of the Nagaland Volleyball Association, as the Chief Patron. In his address, Yanthan extended his gratitude to all participating teams for their enthusiasm and participation. He encouraged the players to harness their God-given talents and use them to their fullest potential, calling for unity among district volleyball associations with the motto “one voice, one vision” to elevate the sport to greater heights.

MH-10 Kohima, as the champions, walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000, along with a trophy and certificate. The runner-up, Changtongya Volleyball Association, was awarded Rs. 70,000 and a certificate. Individual awards, with cash prizes of Rs. 5,000 each, were also presented. Watineken of MH-10 was named Best Spiker, Tongpangsunep of MH-10 won Best Setter, and Bendangtemsu of CVA was awarded Man of the Tournament.

Final rankings of the tournament are as follows:

Champion: MH-10 Kohima

Runner-up: Changtongya Volleyball Association

Third place: Itovi Memorial Club, Dimapur

Fourth place: Ozümi
