Midland colony under Ward 9 bags cleanest ward award 2024 in Kohima

The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), on December 19, celebrated its Pre-Christmas and the Annual Best & Cleanest Ward Award 2024 at KMC office Kohima.

Neikhozo Suokhrie, Chairperson KMC, expressed that pleasure to celebrate the first Christmas as wards along with the KMC office. While emphasizing on the objectives of the award, the Chairperson added that it will be a positive aspiration for all the wards to keep their progress towards the goal.  Welcoming each and everyone to the special event, Suokhrie hoped that the celebration brings joy and happiness.

During the price distribution, Neilhouphrelie, Chief Inspector K.M.C. presented the categories on which the awards were given. In the cleanest Ward category 2024, Midland (Ward 9) bagged the 1st prize with 34 points;  New Ministers’ Hill / Lerie / NST/ Dairy Farm under Ward 16 bagged 2nd with 32 Points and the Hospital Officers’ Hill Ward  (Ward-10) with 31 points secure the 3rd position

The Cleanest Shop award 2024 were awarded to KS FLORIST DAKLANE with 22 points securing first position, KIWI MART securing second position at Sepfuzou Colony with 21 points and 3rd position was awarded to United Traders, High School with 21 Points.

Ruokuowhelie Pienyü, Pastor, Upper Naga Bazaar Baptist Church in his speech highlighted the significance of what Christmas means as a Christian. Hosting a program as such in Christ is indeed a thing to be blessed, Pastor Pienyü added .

The program was chaired by Zeneivonuo Nakhro, while Ketholelie Seletsu pronounced the invocation. Khrielievi Chusi , Deputy Chairperson K.M.C. enthralled the crowd with his special song “ Holy Night “ and the vote of thanks was delivered by T. Lanusenla Longkumer, Chief Executive Officer K.M.C.
