In observance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a District Walkathon centred on the theme “NMBA: Viksit Bharat ke Pehchaan” was organized on June 24, in Mokokchung to promote a drug-free society.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Sr. SP), Vesupra Kezo officially flagged off the event. The walkathon commenced from the DC’s Office and culminated at the Mokokchung Public Ground. A large gathering comprising of local students and district officials attended the event.

During a short programme at the Public Ground, Assistant Commissioner & Nodal Officer for NMBA Mokokchung, Dr. Madhavi R, IAS, addressed the gathering. She emphasized that the initiative aims to boost awareness about drug abuse prevention and inspire collective community action. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mokokchung, Atsungba Walling, administered the official NMBA pledge to all participants.
The event successfully concluded with a mass Signature Campaign to reinforce the community’s commitment against substance abuse.
