The Meriema Village Youth Organisation (MVYO) has revoked its earlier restrictions on the movement of government-registered vehicles through Meriema Village jurisdiction following assurances from the concerned authorities that repair works on the National Highway stretch will begin shortly.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the organisation said the decision was taken pursuant to a meeting held on June 30 in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, to discuss the deteriorating condition of the National Highway passing through Meriema jurisdiction.

According to the MVYO, officials of the Public Works Department (National Highways) and the executing agency, M/s Nitin Sai Constructions, committed during the meeting to commence repair works on the affected stretch. In view of these assurances, the organisation announced that its earlier notification imposing restrictions on the movement of government-registered vehicles within Meriema Village jurisdiction stands revoked with immediate effect.
