The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) organised a four-day Umpire Course from September 7 to 10at the Nagaland Cricket Academy, Sovima, with the objective of strengthening and developing the officiating ecosystem in the state.

A total of 25 candidates from various districts across Nagaland participated in the course, bringing together aspiring and developing match officials from across the state.

The course was conducted by Jayapal P, a BCCI-qualified umpire, who provided the participants with professional guidance and insights into the technical and practical aspects of cricket umpiring.

The four-day programme focused on developing the participants’ understanding of the Laws of Cricket, umpiring procedures, decision-making, match situations and the responsibilities of match officials, providing them with valuable knowledge and exposure to professional standards of officiating.

The Nagaland Cricket Association emphasised on capacity building and the development of cricket infrastructure and human resources in the state.

The course concluded on September 10 at the Nagaland Cricket Academy, Sovima.
