Nagaland Futsal Club Championship 2025 kicks off in Sovima

The much-anticipated 4th Edition of the Nagaland Futsal Club Championship officially commenced today at the Futsal Centre, Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima. Organized by the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and the Nagaland Futsal Club Committee (NFCC), the championship brings together the best futsal teams from across the state to compete for the coveted title.

According to a press release issued by the Nagaland Super League (NSL), the inaugural ceremony, held at 3:00 PM, was chaired by L. Shahoto Yimchunger, Joint Secretary of NFA & Tournament Secretary of NFCC. H Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor for Tribal Affairs & Election, Government of Nagaland, graced the event as the Special Guest.

The program began with an invocation by Zhamhalie Rupreo, Assistant Pastor of CRC Sovima, followed by a keynote address by Kiyeka S Sumi, Senior Vice President of NFA & Convenor of NFCC. A short speech was delivered by Sebastian Zumvü, Chairman of Sovima Village Council. A special performance was presented by Denja Yiukong Phom. The Special Guest then delivered his address before the ceremonial kick-off at 3:50 PM, marking the start of the tournament.  .

The Nagaland Futsal Club Championship continues to grow as a platform for fostering talent, promoting futsal in the region, and strengthening the sporting culture in Nagaland. Enthusiasts, players, and supporters are invited to witness the high-energy matches and cheer for their favorite teams, stated the press release.

The tournament, organized under the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), featured six exciting matches:

  1. Nyenshen FC (Tuensang) vs. Chümoukedima SC (Chümoukedima) – 3:50 PM
  2. Lengreng FC (Peren) vs. Tribals United FC (Dimapur) – 4:50 PM
  3. Vanguard FC (Tseminyu) vs. Aphuyemi FC (Zunheboto) – 5:50 PM
  4. Proper V FC (Mon) vs. Zasivi FC (Kohima) – 6:50 PM
  5. Aphuyemi FC (Zunheboto) vs. Nyenshen FC (Tuensang) – 7:50 PM
  6. Zasivi FC (Kohima) vs. Lengreng FC (Peren) – 8:50 PM

Each match delivered edge-of-the-seat action, with teams displaying exceptional skill, strategy, and determination. Players from across the state showcased their talent, making the opening day a spectacular success.
