Nagaland NCC fraternity shines at Annual Award function of NER

The NCC North-Eastern Region (NER) hosted its prestigious Annual Award function at Kalakshetra, Guwahati, on 25 March 2025. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements and contribution of Associate NCC Officers, education institutes, cadets, and NCC Staff of all seven NR States during 2024-25, informed a press release by the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh

The ceremony was graced by the Governor of Assam, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, as the Chief Guest. The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Nandita Garlosa was also present and presented prizes to Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), cadets, educational institutions and NCC Staff. Addressing the gathering, Governor praised the awardees for their dedication and commitment and emphasised that “NCC plays a crucial role in developing leadership, discipline, and patriotism among youth. Today, we honour those who have shown exceptional commitment to these values”.

55 personnel & educational institutions were awarded to in recognition to their contribution in significantly enhancing NCC’s image in 2024-25.

Best Cadets were recognized for exceptional leadership and performance, while Best ANOs were honoured for their pivotal role in mentorship with tireless and invaluable service and contributions in NCC and to the country as a whole.

The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Assam – Nandita Garlosa presented trophies and banners to ANO Lt Sunil Kumar (SD-Male) Sainik School Punglwa Nagaland and ANO Capt T.K. Medoweu, Kohima Science College Jotsoma (SW- Female) for Best ANO of Nagaland; Kohima Science College was adjusted Best NCC College of Nagaland and Government Higher Secondary School Noklak was adjusted Best NCC School of Nagaland Noklak for their exemplary performance, discipline, and contributions to NCC activities. While SUO Imtisanen Jamir of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung SUO Jamir was awarded 2nd best SD cadet in Entire North East Region and best cadet in Nagaland in Senior Division category Best Cadet 2024-2025 of Nagaland.

Major General Gagan Deep, Sena Medal, ADG, NCC NER and all NCC Group Commanders of NCC NER were present during the event. ADG, NCC NER also complimented all awardees and acknowledged contribution of education institutes in fostering future leaders of our country reinforcing NCC’s mission to nurture disciplined and service-oriented youth.
