NITI Incubation Centre inaugurated in Dimapur

The new NITI Incubation Center, supported by the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, was formally inaugurated on June 5 at Marwari Patti, Dimapur in the presence of distinguished guests, entrepreneurs, educators, startup founders, students, Army officials, CII Nagaland Chairperson, Partner School representatives, NITIans and well-wishers.

The occasion was graced by Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, P Tokugha Sema, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Sema appreciated the efforts of NITI in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, skilling, and startup culture among the youth of Nagaland and the North East. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to take advantage of incubation support systems and government initiatives to build sustainable enterprises and employment opportunities.

He also informed about the seven Incubation centers sponsored by the Department. He exhorted the NITIans for the remarkable journey ahead to benefit the youth of Nagaland.

The program commenced with an invocation prayer by Sedevizo Keyho, while Kielamlung Zeliang offered the benediction prayer.

The event was chaired by Sweta Giri, who welcomed the guests and highlighted the vision and objectives of the incubation center. The keynote address was delivered by NITI CEO, Er Rishav Sethi, who emphasized the importance of innovation-driven entrepreneurship, startup mentoring, digital transformation, AI-driven opportunities, and the need for creating a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nagaland.

During the program, presentations on the existing startups under NITI were made by NIC Manager, Alovi Shohe & her colleagues, Prakash Mahela and Solobu Kent. It was informed that NITI already has seven startups functioning under its ecosystem in diverse sectors including technology, education, skilling, IT-enabled services, entrepreneurship development, and innovation support.

IITian Aayush Lakhera also spoke about NITI Academy as an upcoming institute to leverage STEM education in Nagaland in particular.

The speakers highlighted that the NITI Incubation Center aims to provide mentorship, infrastructure, startup guidance, training, networking opportunities, and industry linkages for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators from Nagaland and neighboring states.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Gideon Rongmei, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, participants, media representatives, and all supporters for making the inauguration ceremony successful.

Four products were launched by NITI Incubation Center on the occasion viz. Mascot, NITI Dashboard, Yes Broker & Thikedaar.
