The Nagaland Judo Association (NJA) conducted its 2nd Judo Ranking Event at Eden Academy, Mokokchung on 27 June. A total of 156 judokas from across the state took part in the assessment programme.

The event was organised to evaluate the technical skills of athletes, monitor their development, and provide judokas an opportunity to qualify for promotion to higher belt levels through a standardised ranking assessment.

The event saw participation from different belt categories, including 126 judokas in the Yellow Belt category, 16 in Orange Belt, five in Green Belt, and nine in Blue Belt, making total participation of 156 athletes.

Throughout the event, the participants underwent technical evaluations conducted by qualified officials and instructors of the Nagaland Judo Association. The assessments focused on the athletes’ understanding of judo techniques, discipline, and overall progress in the sport.

The Association stated that the growing participation reflects the increasing interest in judo among young athletes in Nagaland. It further emphasised that regular ranking events are important in identifying emerging talent, encouraging continuous improvement, and preparing athletes for district, state, and national-level competitions.
