NOA announces Olympic Day Run 2025 in Kohima; invites children to participate

The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has announced to celebrate Olympic Day on June 23 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima, under the global theme “Move, Learn, Discover – Together for a Better World”.

“At the heart of the celebration is the Olympic Day Run— a fun, spirited track event designed especially for children aged 8 to 12 years, promoting the Olympic values of movement, learning, and discovery through sport and community,” an official release stated.

The release said the event is open to young runners across four age-based race categories with a total prize pool of over ₹1 lakh.

Olympic Day Run – Race Categories:

  1. 50 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between 22/06/2015 – 22/06/2016)
  2. 80 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between 22/06/2014 – 22/06/2015)
  3. 80 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between 22/06/2013 – 22/06/2014)
  4. 100 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between 22/06/2012 – 22/06/2013)

Registration is ongoing and will be open till June 17. Organisers also informed that online registration details can be viewed via NOA’s official social media handles and for offline, forms are available at the NOA Office, Kohima.

Parents and guardians have been encouraged to register their children early and support them in being part of the movement.

“The Olympic Day Run is more than a race—it’s a celebration of youth, unity, health and the Olympic spirit. Let’s run together — to move, to discover and to build a better world, together,” the release further said.
