“Nobody can become rich with a begging bowl nor progress with a begging bowl,” said . Mhabemo Yanthan IAS, Commissioner Nagaland, today during the inauguration of Renphamo Murry Apiary.
Yanthan was stressing on the essence of work hard in harnessing the rich natural resources bestowed in Nagaland and especially the land of Wokha, instead of depending on the Government and politicians alone.
Yanthan graced the occasion as the Special Guest during the inauguration of the apiary at H.Q Panton Bazar, N. Longidang Village.
Appreciating the enthusiasm of Renphamo Murry proprieter of the Apiary, Yanthan stated that Murry has worked tirelessly and consistently with determination to achieve this. In his speech, Yanthan also advised the gathering on developing better marketing and entrepreneurial skills. Pointing out the exorbitant rate of vegetables in the district despite being labelled the ‘Land of Plenty’, Yanthan advised the gathering to strategise new policies where people from other districts can come and buy from Wokha instead of exporting which will boost the economy of the district. Furthermore, Yanthan stated that it is rare to witness people of Wokha giving importance to Apiculture. With the bee Apis cerana being found only in a few places including Nagaland, Yanthan encouraged the people to preserve and give importance to Apiculture.
