The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has mourned the demise of former Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly E.T. Ezung, describing his death as a loss to the Congress party and the State.

Ezung, who hailed from the 40 Bandari Assembly Constituency, was serving as a member of the NPCC Core Committee/Political Affairs Committee (PAC). The NPCC Communication Department said he was a dedicated member of the Congress family who rendered valuable service to the party.

The party recalled his commitment, contributions and longstanding association with the organisation, saying his service would be remembered with respect and gratitude.

NPCC president and Lok Sabha MP, S. Supongmeren Jamir expressed deep shock over Ezung’s demise and described him as a “perfect gentleman” and veteran politician of Nagaland.
