NPF Councillors in Dimapur Municipal Council announce reconciliation, call off trust vote

The elected NPF councillors of the Dimapur Municipal Council have announced that they have resolved internal differences and agreed to work together as a united team in the interest of public service and city development and decided to withdraw the no-confidence motion against the incumbent Chairperson, Hukheto Yepthomi.

In a press statement issued on behalf of the NPF councilors, DMC Chairperson, Hukheto Yepthomi and Deputy Chairperson, Imlinaro Stephanie Ezung said the decision for reconciliation was taken on the initiative of the NPF leadership, in the larger interest of party unity and their commitment to serve the citizens of Dimapur.

“We have taken the unconditional decision to reconcile our differences and misunderstandings in the greater interest of the unity of the Party and in the interest of our commitment to serve the public and the citizens of Dimapur city,” they stated.

The councillors expressed appreciation to the party leadership, including Neiphiu Rio, for his intervention and guidance towards unity, reconciliation, and oneness.

Stating that differences and misunderstandings had been resolved, the councillors reaffirmed their commitment to good governance, accountability, and transparency in the functioning of Dimapur Municipal Council.

“Since all members have reconciled and agreed to work together as one united team, there is now no need to carry out any trust vote, therefore we have officially communicated to the concerned authorities to call off the trust vote,” the statement said.

The councillors also appealed to all section of the people and all stakeholders to extend support and solidarity towards the all-round development of Dimapur city.
