Fifteen wrestlers of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) on Monday left for Delhi to partake in the forthcoming Asian Belt Wrestling Alysh Championship. The 15-member state squad will represent Indian contingent during the championship which is scheduled to be held in Delhi from May 21 to 26.
According to an update from NWA, a short send-off programme was held at IG Stadium Kohima before the team’s departure, where NWA president Vivolie Kezo and Youth Resources and Sports joint director Jakedovo Chase addressed the wrestlers.

Angami Sports Association president Rokovikho Chale also exhorted and encouraged the wrestlers. Pastor Peraciezie Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Kevichalie Metha pronounced a prayer for the team.
The NWA conveyed its gratitude to the CBCK, CWA, ASA, DYRS, Kikruma Gospel Team, Kohima for financial, moral and prayer support towards the NWA team. The association appealed to all Nagas to uphold the team in their prayers for the upcoming play-offs.
