Outstanding Asetkong students honoured at 6th Yajen Aier Honorary and AKTM Excellency Award ceremony

The 6th Edition of the Yajen Aier Honorary Award and AKTM Excellency Award programme was held on May 24 at the Community Hall, Longpa Village. The event was jointly organized by the Asetkong Conference and the Asetkong Students’ Conference (AKTM) to honour outstanding students from the Asetkong range who excelled in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations conducted by the NBSE.

This year, two students were conferred the prestigious Yajen Aier Honorary Award and the AKTM Excellency Award. The recipients are Bendangtila Longkumer, who secured Top 9 in HSSLC (Commerce) from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, and Kimenjungla Aier, who secured Top 12 in HSLC from Little St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Chumoukedima. Each awardee received a cash prize of INR 20,000 along with a citation.

In addition, the Asetkong Students’ Excellency Award was presented to meritorious students from the range, each receiving INR 10,000 and a certificate. The Yajen Aier Honorary Award also recognizes the best performing students in Classes 8, 9, and 10 from schools in the Asetkong area. This year’s recipients were Rongnen Jamir (Class 10) from Clark Memorial Secondary School, Impur; Akumsunep Aier (Class 9) from Government High School, Longjang; and Aosanen (Class 8) from Clark Memorial Secondary School, Impur.

Addressing the gathering, Achanger T. Aier, SDO (Electrical), Mokokchung, urged the students to pursue their academic goals with vision and determination. “Being a topper is not enough,” he said. “Vision is what sustains you when challenges come. Let failure become your springboard to motivate you to success.”
