The Phek Area Women’s Association (PAMA) and Kizari Village Council (KVC) have condemned the alleged heinous crime committed by Hekugha Chophi of Tsutoho Village, a member of NSCN (IM) at Kizari village where the culprit had forcefully tried to rape and torture the victim.
The Phek Area Mother’s Association (PAMA) in their statement expressed deep outrage and condemnation over the incident of attempted rape and criminal intimidation involving threats to kill the victim by Hegukha Chophi of Tsutoho village on September 24, who is a member of NSCN (IM) faction.
PAMA stated that such heinous act is not only a gross violation of human rights and dignity but also an alarming threat to the safety and security of our community, particularly of women and vulnerable individuals.
It further informed that such acts of violence and intimidation have no place in a civilized society.
PAMA also highlighted that the association stand firmly united in demanding that justice be delivered swiftly and impartially.
The association further called upon the law enforcement authorities to take immediate and decisive action against the culprit, ensuring that they are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. The association urged the concerned authorities to provide protection, legal support, and counseling to the victim and to ensure her safety and well-being.
It also appealed public to stand together in solidarity against gender-based violence and to support initiatives that promote respect, equality, and justice for all.
The office of the Kizari Village Council also in their statement expressed its strongest condemnation over the recent incident of molestation and sexual harassment against one of their bonafide lady/sister by Hekugha Chophi of Tsütoho Village.
The Council stated that reprehensible and unlawful acts represent a grave violation of human dignity and are a direct affront to the fundamental values of respect, equality and justice that our society upholds.

The Council also reaffirmed their firm stance that any form of sexual harassment, molestation, or violence against women or girls is intolerable and must be met with the strictest legal action.
“The individual responsible for such despicable behavior must be held fully accountable under the law, and justice must be ensured without delay. We extend our deepest sympathy and support to the victim and her family during this difficult time. It is our collective responsibility to create a safe, respectful, and dignified environment for all, free from fear, exploitation, and abuse.” , the council cited .
The Kizari Village Council also highlighted that it remains committed to promoting awareness, upholding ethical conduct, and co-operating fully with the law enforcement authorities to prevent the recurrence of such incidence in the future.
They also reiterated unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and human rights, and we categorically denounce all forms of molestation and sexual violation.
