The newly recognised village, Nsong Namchi, under Tening sub-division of Peren district was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by special guest Namri Nchang, advisor for Water Resources, stated a DIPR report.

Nchang encouraged the people from the village to promote the spirit of oneness and unity for progressiveness in all spheres. He apprised the gathering that his sole motive is to promote the welfare of the people without any differentiation.

He asked the villagers to be vigilant of the various propaganda that are hovering all around before the state election. The oneness of a single tribe and the Nagas cannot be separated by any forces, he stated and added that one must be prepared to fulfill the long cherished dreams and aspirations of the Nagas as a whole.

The other speakers of the programme included Aku Nhai, president NDPP 6th Tening A/C; Imtiwabang Aier, EAC Tening; Yimkum I Ozukum, EAC Nsong; and ADC Tening.

The chairman of Nsong Namchi delivered the welcome address while the president of NSU, Rangtalak, proposed the vote of thanks.

A cultural dance was also performed by the Nsong Village Youth Organisation.

Earlier, the advisor unveiled the monolith which was followed by a dedicatory prayer pronounced by Saha, pastor of Nsong Namchi.
