Phek DPDB deliberates on poor results of Govt schools in HSLC & HSSLC exams

The Phek DPDB held its monthly meeting at DC’s Conference Hall, Phek on June 19 under the chairmanship of KG Kenye, Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs, Nagaland, and Chairman DPDB, Phek. The board had a lengthy deliberation on poor result of Government Schools in the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations.

Addressing at the meeting, KG Kenye stated the important concept of having District Planning & Development Board in the State, and encouraged the department officers to continue to attend all official meetings regularly and participate in the discussions to enable the government to see and understand the needs of the people living at the grassroot level.

While sharing the State’s financial position, the Minister requested the officers of developmental departments to ensure that funds meant for development or for beneficiaries are judiciously utilize for the welfare of the people in the district.

Senior SDEO of Education Department, Phek presented the factors behind poor results of Government Schools in HSLC and HSSLC Examinations. Deliberating on the poor result of Government School in HSLC and HSSCL examinations in the district, the board discussed on Adoption of Schools by the DPDB Members.

The meeting also deliberated on the agenda for installation of Video Conference Facility in DC’s Conference Hall. The agenda was recommendation to the Government for final approval.

Deputy Commissioner & Principal Census Officer, Rhosietho Nguori, NCS and EAC & Census Nodal Officer, Er. Mechietsho Koza, highlighted categorically on Census operations at the meeting.

Later, the board discussed the ongoing preparation and activities for the Census 2027 in the district.

The status of Pfutsero-Phek Road which is under process for handing over to the State R&B Department from NHIDCL was also discussed during the meeting. In this regard, the Executive Engineer (R&B) of Pfutsero and Phek Divisions updated the present status to the members.

At the same time, Minister, KG Kenye apprised the Executive Engineers (R&B) of Pfutsero and Phek that he will take the initiate to approach the Government for sanctioning of fund for current maintenance of Pfutsero-Phek road.

The Department of Social Welfare & Women Development and Food & Civil Supply presented their departmental activities initiated in the district through PowerPoint.
