The Zeliangrong youth and student bodies spearheading the agitation over the murder of Kesutlungle in Pimla have announced the suspension of their ongoing indefinite ban, granting a 15-day relaxation period effective from 8 p.m. on August 25.
In a joint statement, the Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON), Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN), and Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation Nagaland (ZMON) said the decision was made in recognition of the “powerful and peaceful solidarity” demonstrated during the recent public rally in Dimapur, demanding justice for the victim.
The organizations thanked the people of Peren district for their discipline, unity, and sacrifice, which they said had “forcefully amplified the collective demand for justice.” It also acknowledge the hardships they have endured and expressed gratitude for their sacrifice.
At the same time, the bodies declared that a 15-day ultimatum has been issued to the government to take decisive action by initiating a thorough investigation and ensuring swift justice in the Pimla murder case.
Warning of stronger action if the authorities fail to respond, the joint statement said, “Should our demands not be met within this stipulated time, we will be compelled to initiate a third and more intense phase of agitation”.

The organizations hoped for a positive response from the government to avoid further escalation.
However, it said, “If our peaceful appeals continue to be ignored, the leadership will not be held accountable for any untoward incidents arising from the justified anger and frustration of the people in the subsequent phase of our struggle.”
The groups urged citizens to use the relaxation period to remain prepared and united, reaffirming that the fight for justice for Kesutlungle would continue with “greater resolve.”
