PM Modi begins official visit to Poland and Ukraine

New Delhi: Hope for early return of peace and stability in region, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Official visit to Poland and Ukraine has begun with him enplaning Air India One on Wednesday. In a statement before his departure for Warsaw, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the visits will serve as a natural continuation of extensive contacts and help create the foundation for stronger and more vibrant relations in the years ahead.

Stating that Poland is one of India’s key economic partners in Central Europe, PM said that his visit will mark 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. “Our mutual commitment to democracy and pluralism further reinforces our relationship,” he stated.

He added that he is looking forward to meeting “my friend” Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to further advance the partnership. The Prime Minister further informed that he will be engaging with the members of the vibrant Indian community in Poland.

PM Modi also stated that he will be visiting Ukraine on 23rd August 2024 at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Remarking that this is the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine, he anticipates “the opportunity to build upon earlier conversations with President Zelenskyy on strengthening bilateral cooperation and share perspectives on peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine conflict.”

As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability in the region, PM Modi added.
