New Delhi: Modi is in MP while partymen across the country will be carrying out ‘seva’ to mark the occasion

On the occasion of his 72nd birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be travelling to Madhya Pradesh continuing with the birthday tradition of doing ‘seva’. In MP, Modi will release cheetahs in Kuno National Park (KNP) and participate in Self-Help Group (SHG) sanmelan or convention.

PM will release three of the eight cheetahs in special enclosures in the state’s KNP. A modified Boeing aircraft transported the felines in special wooden crates from the African country Namibia to Gwalior in MP.

According to the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), an international not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Namibia and dedicated to saving the fastest land animal, the five female cheetahs bound for India are aged between two and five years, while the males are aged between 4.5 years and 5.5 years.

The last cheetah in India died in 1947 in Korea district in present-day Chhattisgarh, which was earlier part of Madhya Pradesh, and the species was declared extinct from India in 1952.

The release of wild Cheetahs the is part of Modi’s efforts to revitalise and diversify India’s wildlife and its habitat, PMO stated. The introduction of Cheetah in India is being done under Project Cheetah, which is world’s first inter-continental large wild carnivore translocation project, it added.

Prime Minister will later participate in the SHG Sammelan being organised at Karahal, Sheopur, where thousands of women SHG members/community resource persons that are being promoted under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).

DAY-NRLM’s mission is to empower women and aims at mobilising rural poor households into SHGs in a phased manner and provide them long-term support to diversify their livelihoods, improve their incomes and quality of life.

During the programme, Prime Minister will also be inaugurating four Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) skilling centres under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

After these events, Modi will address around 40 lakh ITI students from across the country on the occasiion of Kaushal Dikshant Samaroh. In the evening, he will launch the important National Logistics Policy and will speak on the occasion.

PM will end his official duties with the launch of the National logistics Policy.

Meanwhile BJP across the country will celebrate their revered leader’s birthday by observing a “unity in diversity” programme, a fortnight-long nationwide drive of public outreach with initiatives like blood donation, helping the poor and disabled, and cleanliness measures.

BJP general secretary Arun Singh said party functionaries in one state will adopt any other state under the programme to promote its language and culture for a day.

An e-auction of gifts the prime minister has received is set to begin from Saturday. Proceeds from the auction will be used for ‘Namami Gange’, the clean Ganga campaign.

A 15-day blood donation drive will begin Saturday on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya urging citizens to register on the Aarogya Setu app or e-Raktkosh portal for donating blood.

The ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’ will continue till 1 October which is observed as National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the year-long celebrations of 75 years of ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ and also attend a service programme here on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Saturday.

In Delhi, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena will lay the foundation stone of an integrated sports arena, including an international cricket-cum-football stadium, in Dwarka, on 17 September to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

Several other initiatives will be launched by Saxena on ‘Sewa Diwas’, including the inauguration of a dedicated counter for sanitation workers of MCD, at the Hindu Rao Hospital.

Inauguration of 41 renovated science labs at 21 NDMC schools and a newly constructed four-storey MCD school building at Okhla Phase-1 will also be done by the LG. Saxena will then launch a Delhi Police band (Sewa Shakti Band) at Kartavya Path.
