Kohima: SP (Crime) & PRO, PHQ informed that on 29th July 2022, at around 2000 hrs, based on reliable information, Nagaland Police personnel of Narcotic Cell PS Mobile unit intercepted a Guwahati-bound Maruti Suzuki Swift VXI, B/R No. AP39LK-4717 (Pearl Arctic White) at NH-2, near bridge between Khuzama and Viswema village, which was coming from Imphal, Manipur.
He added that thorough search of the vehicle resulted in recovery of 10 (ten) packets of suspected opium weighing approximately 10 Kg, which was concealed inside the spare tyre of the vehicle. Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle namely, Abhijit Hazarika (24 yrs), S/o-Sunil Hazarika, Add-Ranthali Nagaon, PO/PS-Ranthali, State- Assam, was arrested and the illegal contraband duly seized. A case, vide Narcotic Cell Police Station Case No.08/2022 U/S 18 (b)/60 NDPS Act, has been registered for further investigation.
