In a significant development for the School of Agricultural Sciences in particular and Nagaland University in general, the “Opening of the Sale Counter of SAS” was inaugurated by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akali Sema in the presence of Dean Prof. L. Daiho, Deputy Registrar Dr. Anthony V. Richa, Assistant Registrar Lima Changkiri, Prof. K. K. Jha and and Junior Engineer Merijan Tsopoe on March 19, 2025 at the university’s Medziphema campus. The initiative is aimed at fostering collaboration and enhanced product visibility to create a sustainable revenue generation model for the University’s campus.

The primary objective of the sale counter is to generate revenue by marketing the various innovative and quality products developed by the School of Agricultural Sciences, NU, stated a press release by the University. The sale counter started with products made by the Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development (VSSD) having Bonsai, Ornamental plants, nursery plants, organic plants input, organic tomatoes, mixed pickles, and gladiolous corms.
The Medziphema campus will strive to provide the best quality products, inputs and services. The dedicated faculty members of VSSD Department including Dr. Nini R. Kuotsu, Dr. Anupama Bora, Dr. K. Ajay Kumar, Vipin Arya and Dr. Vikono Ksh took a remarkable effort in assuring the availability of quality products at the counter along with enthusiastic non-teaching staff and students.
