In solidarity with the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and in support to the cause against harassment of business community, the Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WDCCI) had decided to call for a shutter down on 26th April 2024 (Friday) from 06:00 am to 06:00 pm.

In a circular, WDCCI President Vungathang C Murry and General Secretary Ponathung Kikon stated their appreciation to DCCI for taking the bold step to protest “the unabated multiple taxation, intimidations and summons meted out to the business community” and affirmed the Wokha traders’ cooperation. WDCCI also assured “to depress any issue which impede the business community at large.”

In this regard, the traders’ body appealed to the general public of Wokha to bear with the inconveniences and extend their support for the genuine cause.

With this decision of the Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, all shops and business establishments in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Kohima and Wokha will remain closed tomorrow. The protest will continue indefinitely in Dimapur.
