State Government notifies on requisition of vehicles

The Nagaland State Government today issued a notification on directing administrators and election officers to requisition vehicles for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“In pursuance of Section 166 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 the power conferred to the State Government under Section 160 to 165 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 is hereby delegated to all the Deputy Commissioners & District Election Officers and Additional Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Pughoboto to act on behalf of the State Government for requisitioning of Vehicles, Premises, etc. for the conduct of upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024 from 1-Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency,” stated the order.

Any vehicle, premises etc. belonging to private person or institution/organization shall be entitled for compensation under Section 161 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, informed the DIPR.
