The Sumi Hoho and all the frontal organisations, in its consultative meeting held on 26 January, have deliberated and resolved on issues regarding the upcoming state assembly elections.
An update from the Sumu Hoho informed that “[w]hile appreciating the Zunheboto district law enforcing agencies for checking the flow of intoxicated substances into the district,” the Hoho has appealed the agencies to intensify and monitor the sale of such substances and penalise as per the law.
The organisation has also entrusted the Kukami (Gaonburas), village councils, and colony councils to strictly prohibit the opening of camps and messes so as to avoid unwanted situations and maintain calm for a free and fair election.
Calling upon all Sumi civil society organisations and the church to continue to propagate ‘Clean Election’, the organisation further called upon all to cooperate with the law enforcing agencies and election officials for the smooth conduct of the elections.
