Tesenlui Council felicitates gold medalist Peiheiteile Esalung

Tening: Peiheiteile is the winner of All Zeme Olympic Assam, Manipur and Nagaland Marathon in the year 2019 held at Jalukie. She has represented Nagaland in Northeast state level events at Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh in the year 2014, 2016 and 2017, and has bagged two silver medals and one bronze medal. She is also a National Bronze Medalist of Khelo India 2022

Organised by Tesenlui Council, Tesen village, under Tening Sub-division, Peren, a felicitation programme in honor of the best women athlete and gold medalist, Peiheiteile Esalung was held at Tesen Lui Council Hall, Tening on 29th August 2022.

Peiheiteile expressed her profound gratitude to Tesen Lui Council for organizing the programme, and lauded the Peren District Athlete Association, team coach and management board members for the support and guidance throughout her successful journey. She said that with the immense support and unceasing love from family members, village elders and friends, she has overcome various obstacles and urged the gathering to continue to remember her through prayers even in the coming days.

Penam, PS to Advisor, Water Resources Department, Namri Nchang, President TSU, Woman Organization Tesen, Village Council Old Tesen, Village Council New Tesen, Village Council Mbaulwa, Village Council Heiranglwa, Tesen Lui Council Jalukie Valley and District Sports Council, Peren also spoke on the occasion.

Tesen Lui Council Chairman, Hingbam Putlang who chaired the programme, also delivered the welcome address. Vote of thanks was delivered by Pastor, New Tesen Baptist Church, Heikwetgong Putlang. The programme was attended by students of both the Government High school Mbaulwa and Christian English School Tesen, Tesen village elders, Women Organisations Tesen, Tesen Students’ Union, and others members from four villages of Tesen.
