For the first time, the Great Escape of Mahindra Adventure was held as part of the Hornbill Festival. The Great Escape, Hornbill Edition, was organised by the Global India Expeditions and Mahindra Adventure.

The off-road adventure was flagged off by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Development Commissioner, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, IAS at Apex Motor, Meriema, Kohima on 9 December.

Bhatia urged the participants to explore the villages and hoped that in the future, the interior parts of Nagaland would also be explored. He also hoped that more off-road adventures would be organised. Bhatia also called upon drivers to drive responsibly.

Various Mahindra SUVs took part in the off-road adventure where they crossed multiple villages including Khonoma, Mezoma and Jotsoma.

The event was organised to promote tourism and rural Nagaland through off-road adventures. This is the fourth time that the Great Escape has been organised in the state.
