Training for polling officials held at Chumoukedima

A one day training programme for polling personnel in connection with the upcoming bye election to Ward No 11 of the Chumoukedima Town Council was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Chumoukedima on June 11.

The training programme was conducted in the presence of T Lemlila Sangtam NCS, Returning Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner Chumoukedima and Er Khriengunuo Theunuo NCS, Assistant Returning Officer and Extra Assistant Commissioner (HQ) Chümoukedima.

District level Master Trainers briefed the polling personnel on election procedures, their roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the poll.

The Returning Officer called upon all candidates, political parties, ward councillors, civil society organisations and residents to extend their cooperation in ensuring a peaceful, free and fair election process in Chumoukedima Town. She urged voters to exercise their democratic rights responsibly and contribute towards maintaining a conducive atmosphere during the election.

It was further informed that the polling station for bye election to Ward No 11 of the Chumoukedima Town Council will be at Government Middle School Chumoukedima , Block IV . Polling would be held on June 16 from 7:30 a.m. onwards.
