Training program on livestock scheme for para-vetenerian and famers held at Shamator

A one-day training programme on Livestock Insurance Scheme for para-veterinarians and farmers under National Livestock Mission (NLM) 2025-2026 was conducted at YTC Hall, Shamator on May 8.

The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among livestock farmers and para- veterinarians on the importance, benefits and procedures of livestock insurance under the NLM scheme. The training emphasized financial protection for livestock owners against losses arising from death, disease, accidents and natural calamities.

C Throngso, UDA chaired the programme. Delivering the keynote address, Dr N Wopenthung Odyuo, CVO, highlighted the significance of livestock insurance in safeguarding the livelihood of livestock farmers and encouraged farmers to avail the benefits of the scheme.

A technical session on Livestock Insurance Scheme was presented by Dr Ale Khape, VAS, Shamator, who explained the procedures for availing insurance policy, premium rates and maintenance of necessary documents for smooth claim settlement.

The concluding remarks were delivered by Dr. N Wopenthung Odyuo, CVO, followed by a vote of thanks by P. Showuba Yim, JFM
