TSUK conducts Open Futsal Tournament

The Tikhir Students’ Union Kohima (TSUK) successfully organised an Open Futsal 7-A-Side Tournament at Pro Turf Seven, High School Kohima on May 15.

The tournament commenced with a brief opening programme hosted by Toju KN, Information Secretary, TSUK. During the programme, Zisekyu T Chirr, President, TSUK welcomed the participating teams and football enthusiasts. This was followed by an exhortation delivered by the Executive Secretary, TSUK. The opening programme concluded with a prayer offered by the Youth Pastor of Tikhir Baptist Church, Kohima.

A total of 30 teams participated in the tournament, making the event highly competitive and exciting throughout the day. The matches were marked by intensity, sportsmanship, and enthusiastic support from football lovers. The tournament continued till 9 p.m. keeping the atmosphere lively and energetic until the final whistle.

The event concluded with a closing programme where KJ Musushe, General Secretary, TSUK, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to all participating teams, referees, officials, supporters, and football lovers whose cooperation and enthusiasm contributed immensely towards the grand success of the tournament.

The tournament culminated with the prize distribution ceremony conducted by Kheantsumong B, Games and Sports Secretary, TSUK. In the final results, United Homies (B) emerged as the Champions and received a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while Dream FC secured the Runners-Up position with a prize of Rs 15,000.

Individual awards were also presented to outstanding performers:

Best Goalkeeper: Hukaito (United Homies – B)

Highest Scorer: Kanaito (AXU FC) with an impressive tally of 9 goals.

TSUK further expressed hope that such sporting events will continue to foster unity, healthy competition, and camaraderie among the youth.
