UKSU felicitates successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC

The Upper Khomi Students’ Union (UKSU) on Sunday conducted a felicitation programme at Upper Khomi Baptist Church under Phek district.

According to an update, the programme was organized to honor and celebrate the successful candidates of the HSLC & HSSLC Examination 2026, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and achievements.

During the programme, Kulupoyi V Vadeo, Village Development Board (VDB) Secretary of Upper Khomi Village, was the speaker. He congratulated the students and acknowledged them for bringing laurels not only to their families but to the village as a whole.

He encouraged them to be hardworking, sincere, and committed to their goals with passion, and above all to fear God and seek His guidance in all their pursuits.

The speaker also emphasised the stiff competition and the harsh reality of educated youths facing unemployment. In this regard, he stressed the need for value-based education, along with the importance of acquiring practical skills for employment and self-sustenance, so as to contribute meaningfully to the community’s collective progress.

He further urged the students to remain disciplined and consistent in their efforts, noting that success requires perseverance, patience, and a willingness to learn from failures.

Vadeo also advised the students to expand their horizons, broaden their mindset, and make judicious use of technology and IT tools for their benefit. He highlighted the importance of digital literacy, adaptability, and innovation in today’s rapidly changing world.

In addition, he encouraged the students to uphold moral values, respect elders, and remain rooted in their culture and traditions while striving for excellence in modern fields. He also stressed the importance of unity, cooperation, and community spirit among the younger generation.

Furthermore, Vadeo underscored the need for responsible citizenship among youngsters so as to meaningfully give back to society with righteousness. He called upon them to be agents of positive change, contribute towards nation-building, and work towards the overall development and welfare of the community.

Dupoyi Nienu, President, UKSU, delivered greetings and commended the success of the students.

A special prayer for the students was also offered by Husapa, Pastor UKBC.

The programme was led by Mulevo Nienu, General Secretary UKSU, Mutselu Huzhu, Asst. General Secretary UKSU, gave the presentation of awards, while special songs were presented by Veyotso and Hostellers, and a scripture passage was read by Chosuvelu Nienu.
