The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) for tribal districts of Nagaland was formally launched today by State Prabhari Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, IAS, Secretary cum COE, National Recruitment Agency from Indisen village of Dimapur district, informed the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Kohima.
Dr Tinojongshi Chang, Dimapur DC and Dr Raut Pandurang, IRS, DDG Shipping who is also the district Prabhari and a host of officials from both Central and state government departments, beneficiaries of Central welfare schemes, local body leaders, villagers and students attended the programme.
In his speech, Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra said the pan India VBSY is an ambitious programme of the Central government which aims to propel India to a developed country status by the year 2047, hundred years after independence.
The first phase tribal campaign will be carried out in three districts of Nagaland – Dimapur, Tuensang and Mokokchung. Four VBSY outreach vans, two for Dimapur district and one each for Tuensang and Mokokchung will cover the three districts in the tribal areas campaign.
The pan India launching of the campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jharkhand was also shown live during the programme.
Beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the government shared their experiences on the occasion and thanked the Central government for providing them the schemes.
After the launching programme, the VBSY van for Dimapur was flagged off by DC Dimapur Dr Tinojongshi Chang in the presence of Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, IAS, Secretary & COE National Recruitment Agency from Indisen village.The van later toured to Aoyimkumg village, the second location of the event in the district.

In Mokokchung, the VBSY tribal campaign was launched by ADC Mokokchung Chumlamo Humtsoe at Ungma village spearheaded by the District Administration, informed the DIPR. President Ao Senden, Chubawati Longchar, graced the launching program as the chief guest and led the reading of the pledge for Viksit Bharat.
Success experiences from beneficiaries were shared during the program. Alila from Onchenna SHG received the Outstanding Achievers Award. Folk dance presentations added cultural vibrancy to the event.
EAC (Hq) Vitolu presided over the program. Asstt. Commissioner and District Nodal Officer Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar, IAS, briefed the gathering on the significance of the Yatra. Cooperative sectors set up stalls to enhance connectivity with consumers during the event. Following the launch program of the Yatra, a subsequent program was conducted at the community hall in Khensa.
In Tuensang, the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was inaugurated in Sangsangnyu Block, with events held at Tuensang Village and Ngangpong Village, mentioned the DIPR. The Yatra featured beneficiaries from NSRLM, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ujjwala Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana sharing their experiences. During the event, attendees collectively pledged for the success of the Yatra. The program included cultural presentations and the felicitation of accomplished women from both villages. On-the-spot services were provided by the H&FW Department, NKY Tuensang, IOC Ltd, and DHEW Tuensang. The Nodal officer for Sangsangnyu Block, Toking Yimchunger (EAC), and Ebou Chang (BDO Sangsangnyu Block) led the efforts.
