To ascertain the effectiveness of training imparted by way of practical demonstration of acquired skills and to assess the proficiency in skills imparted to the trainees based on the standards used by the relevant industry segment assessment was conducted by Temjennaro on 4 November.

The assessment was also conducted to ensure the trainees after the skilling programme were ready to take up regular work as skilled workers.

The assessment was conducted as part of the 45-day skill upgradation on handloom weaving under Samarth Scheme which began on the 8 September 2022 at Blue Hill colony, Wokha.

Assistant Director, Weaving Service Centre, Dimapur, Naresh Jambhulkar attended the assessment programme as the observer. Altogether 18 trainees attended the skill upgradation programme.

Earlier the trainees also exhibited their finished products which were weaved during the training period.

The training was sponsored by the Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, Development Commissioner for Handlooms, New Delhi, and the same was conducted in collaboration with Charity Club Multipurpose Society, Wokha – implementing partner for Wokha district. While Weavers Services Centre, Toluvi, Dimapur Nagaland organized the training programme.

The Samarth scheme training is aimed to promote skilling and skill up-gradation in traditional sectors for persons interested in weaving and to implement a cluster development model to stimulate dormant clusters by intervening in the areas of production, technology, marketing, and skill development to enhance productivity, competitiveness with collective efforts and initiatives of individuals units.

MGNF (Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow), Anuranjan Singh proposed the vote of thanks during the short programme for the assessment of the trainees was held.
