District Administration and Sakhi-One Stop Centre Longleng in Collaboration with Phomla Hoichem observed World Day Against Human Trafficking at VDB Hall Longleng on 30th July 2022 under the theme “Use and Abuse of Technology”.

Theme speaker Literature Secretary Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), M. Chingong emphasized the advantages and disadvantages of technology. She added that the excessive use of technology leads to a user making its use a priority over family, friends, and work and which adversely affect their relationship and other commitments. She encouraged the gathering to use social media platforms responsibly and productively.

Advocate Mane Phom, Authority LDLSA spoke on the topic “Prevention and Protection of Human Trafficking”. He encouraged the gathering that District Administration, Government Departments concerned and NGOs alone cannot fight against the trafficking issue unless the responsible citizens come forward and report such cases.

Earlier the program was chaired by Shandimoinyie A. Phom Caseworker (OSC) while the welcome address was delivered by M. Mano Phom President Phomla Hoichem. In conclusion vote of thanks was pronounced by C. Henchem Phom Centre Administration (OSC).
