ZCCI condemns assault on local butcher in Zunheboto by NSCN (R) Wangtin Group

The Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI) has said that it is grieved and enraged by the assault on a butcher at Daily Bazar, Zunheboto and its member named Deck H. Yepthomi allegedly by NSCN (R) Wangtin Group.

The organisation stated that it has been claimed that Yepthomi was car lifted to an uninhabited location where he was beaten up “to the point of near fatality.”

Condemning the “bestial act”, the ZCCI has supported the joint resolve of the Sümi Youth Organization, the Zunheboto Tokujo Kükami, the Zunheboto Area Public Organization, and the Zunheboto Town GB Association to ban the NSCN (R) Wangtin Group from the district.

“It is a sounding message against the current common malevolence pervasive in our society,” ZCCI stated.

At the same time, it also condemned the “evils operating under the shadow of the national movement.” The Chamber is of the view that the outcome at any stage of National Struggle should be to create a conducive and enabling ambience for its subject to thrive and prosper, whereas this kind of “horrifying incident” is ironically otherwise, thereby proliferating the current skepticism against the genuine struggle, it stated.

Further, the Chamber urges the Law Enforcing Agency to sincerely listen to the public outcry for safety and justice and award befitting punishment to the perpetrators as per the law of the land.
