This quinquennial event, organized by the Sendenyu Chipwen Unio’ (SCU), brought together citizens from across Sendenyu, both within the native land and from diaspora communities in Kohima, Dimapur, Tseminyu, and beyond.

Their speeches set the tone for the celebration, urging the community to reflect on its past, protect its heritage, and invest in sustainable practices for future generations.

The celebration began with an invocation prayer by Jilo Bukh, followed by a welcome song by Sendenyu Selho Kehun. Er. His thought-provoking address will highlight the interconnectedness of land, people, and cultural identity, urging citizens to embrace stewardship of their natural and cultural wealth.

The event also saw the installation of new office bearers, a cultural performance that included traditional dances, folk songs, and music by the Charity Band, showcasing the vibrancy of Sendenyu culture. One of the highlights of the event was the SCU Award of Governor PB Acharya for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, presented to Gwakentsin Kent of New Sendenyu for his outstanding contribution to the local agricultural industry through the production of Raja Sürasha (King Chilly).
