78th Independence Day celebrated at Noklak

MLA P.Longon unfurled the national flag and received the Rashtriya salute from 9 Parade contigents at Noklak during the 78th Independence Day celebration held at Public Ground Noklak today. Prior to that, the flag hoisting was conducted in all Govt.offices , educational institutions, Private and Business establishment and entry of parade contigents and participants in the public ground.

The parade commander was Asst. Commandant 3rd NAP Noklak Tianungba, parade 2 I/C ABSI Pengthang T and Parade CHM Hav. Peshiu K .Khiamniungan. The parade contigents  consisted of 3rd NAP and DEF Noklak, Village Guard Nokyan village, NCC GHSS, Noklak, NCC GHS Noklak village, Holy Angels School Noklak, Christian High School Noklak , St.Paul School Noklak, and Frontier Piper Band Nagaland Village Guard which is the first ever to appear.

MLA P Longon read out the independent day speech during the occasion, and later inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments. Superintendent of Police, Noklak reviewed the parade.

The other highlights of the day were Bamboo dance performances by KGBV hostel girls, display by Noklak district Teakwondo Association and folk dance by Tsuwao Village Guards.

To mark the occasion, institutional visit was conducted at District Hospital Noklak and Adora Children Home, Noklak. In the evening session, an exhibition football match was held and the programme concluded with band retreat.
