Wangkhao Government College successfully hosted its annual Literary Day centered on the theme, “Celebrating Conscious Expression.” The event served as a vibrant platform for students to showcase their intellectual and artistic prowess, blending traditional literary genre with the modern sustainable expressions, mentioned a press release.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Tialila, Principal of Wangkhao Government College as the Guest of Honour. In a special highlight for the college community, the event also featured a pre-launch book sale and an exclusive book-signing session for Dr. Tialila’s upcoming poetry collection.

The literary day witnessed the varied talents of the students who competed across a diverse array of categories of traditional arts such as painting, photography, and essay writing, and performing arts comprising of performances in duet and dance categories.

A newly introduced monologue competition that allowed students to demonstrate dramatic flair and storytelling depth was the “Solo Spotlight”. A major highlight of the day was the Sustainable Fashion Show- an innovative collaboration between the Literary Committee and the Eco Club. The show challenged students to merge aesthetics with environmental consciousness, showcasing “Conscious Expression” onto the runway.

The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by various departmental stalls, where students managed food and exhibition booths, fostering a sense of community and entrepreneurship, added the press release.
