The Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) has strongly condemned the alleged abduction of two members of the Don Bosco Congregation on the night of May 13.

In a statement, the Union said Bro Peter Küvisie Poji from the Pochury community and Bro Aching Paul from the Rongmei community were allegedly abducted around 9 p.m. at Saparmaina while travelling from Don Bosco Imphal to Don Bosco Maram.

Terming the incident as “inhumane and cowardly act” against innocent religious persons, who are serving and promoting peace, the PSU expressed deep concern over the safety and well-being of the abducted individuals and strongly denounced any form of violence, intimidation or unlawful activities perpetrated against innocent civilians.

The PSU appealed to all sections of society, civil society organizations, student bodies, churches, and right-thinking citizens to come together in condemning this deplorable act and stand united against such criminal activities that threaten peace, harmony, and human dignity.
