Kohima Police has intensified its efforts in tracing and recovering lost and stolen mobile phones, reaffirming its commitment to public service and community-oriented policing in the capital district.
According to police, a total of 29 mobile phones reported lost or stolen were successfully recovered over the past one and a half months through coordinated technical tracking, field verification, and coordinated investigative efforts by police personnel.
Out of the recovered devices, 17 mobile phones, collectively valued at approximately Rs 3,00,000 were formally handed over to their rightful owners today at the South Police Station, Kohima.
With the latest handover, Kohima Police has now successfully recovered and returned a total of 36 mobile phones to citizens in recent months, officials said.

Reiterating its commitment to safeguarding public property, Kohima Police has appealed to citizens to promptly report cases of lost or stolen mobile phones at the nearest police station to enable timely tracking and recovery.
The police further stated that efforts are ongoing to trace and recover the remaining reported lost and stolen mobile handsets, and all possible leads are being actively pursued.
Kohima Police also acknowledged the cooperation and support extended by the public, stating that such collaboration plays a crucial role in strengthening effective policing and ensuring responsive public service.
