Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton has congratulated Mhayibeni Gifty Jami on becoming the first Naga to represent India at the VI World Nomad Games, held in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan.

Patton stated that it is a proud moment for the state and the entire country to witness her participate on an international platform.

Jami took part in the traditional board game Toguz Korgool under the Intellectual Strategy Games category, competing against players from Turkey, Morocco, Mongolia, the United States, Sweden, Malaysia, Cabo Verde, and Burundi.

Her participation helped Team India secure the 17th position alongside Korea, while she achieved the 27th rank individually among 133 participants from 48 nations.

The Deputy Chief Minister observed that strategy games require great patience, sharp calculation, and clear decision-making. He said that Jami has shown remarkable focus by standing firm against experienced opponents across the globe, bringing credit to her people and setting a positive path for youth who wish to pursue intellectual sports.

Patton extended his warm wishes to Jami for her future tournaments, expressing hope that she continues to reach higher levels of excellence and inspire many more young minds from Nagaland to step forward on international stages.
